The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently viewing the Fernie two Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions for the community.
SASSA might be rendering solutions for example new social grant applications, change of payment method, client treatment enquiries, and also the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a press release, the agency said it is alarmed regarding the higher amount of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The aim from the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to a substantial quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“That is due to the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and more info there's no entirely functional office committed to service the area each day. The support point produced for intervention encounters a substantial influx of opportunity beneficiaries, that makes it complicated to the office to attend to all people who visit a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional sources to help the servicing of all customers and improve usage of Social Assistance expert services,” the agency said.
